The CV joints in the Ford Bronco's Independent Front Suspension (IFS) are easily vulnerable to damage by over-extension, in Broncos with suspension lifts. In other words, when your suspension flexes beyond the safe range intended by the Ford engineers, the CV joints can bind and damage the precision components of the joint, leading to anything from premature wear to catastrophic failure. Short of CV failure, over-extension can also cause tears to the rubber dust boot which is an equally labor-intensive repair (though less expensive) that can lead to more severe CV joint damage if not addressed. We've had several CV joint and/or boot failures so we decided to address the issue once and for all by installing a diff drop. We chose the kit designed and sold by Broken Innovations, after following their thorough design process online. It's a very well thought out, complete kit that is available in several DIY options, from weld-it yourself to fully complete. You can learn more about it or purchase at https://www.brokeninnovation.com/ We swapped out the axles first, so if you're only interested in the Diff Drop install, skip ahead to 11:05 in the video. While we were at it we decided to start fresh with a brand new set of CV Axles from Ford Performance (link: https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-3429-BR ), since we had installed a pair of used axles when we swapped to the M210 FDU a few months back (see that video here: https://youtu.be/b6KK4RklAZc ). The rusty old used axles were of unknown integrity but we had already torn a CV boot, so we thought it was prudent to just pair the new Diff Drop with a brand new set of axles. As we've become accustomed to doing with our install videos, we've just gone ahead and included the entire process, including mis-steps and learned lessons, so you can learn right along with us. I'm not a professional mechanic and I don't present myself as an expert, or my install videos as definitive bibles on how to do something. We try to include it all in there because something we cut out might have been useful to someone. But I do speed it up when appropriate, and try to weed out most of the idle time in order to keep things moving. I hope you find the format useful. Toquerville Falls near Hurricane, Utah is a popular destination for it's beautiful scenery and easy access by just about any stock pickup or SUV, via the easy dirt road down into the canyon. But there's a less-traveled way to get there, straight up the creek through Rattlesnake Gulch, that offers a more challenging 4X4 adventure with dozens of creek crossings, boulder crawls, ledges and of course outstanding natural beauty. Four Ford Broncos Take On Rattlesnake Gulch in Southern Utah!
On this episode of Horsin' Around we install the new Overhead Mount System from Lobo Off-Road into Chanel, our 2021 2-Door Base Bronco. We wanted to hard-mount a 50-watt mobile radio and other accessories in the Bronco but we didn't like the console/footwell mounts or the other overhead panels that were currently on the market. But the OMS kit from Lobo Off-Road ticked all the boxes. It's made out of aluminum, light-weight but very rigid due to its structural design, has extremely versatile mounting solutions and looks great. Follow along as we install it (spoiler: it's pretty easy) and give our impressions about the features and build quality. We installed the ICOM 2370A Dual Band Radio into the mount, along with a remote speaker for it, a fire extinguisher with quick-release, and an LED flashlight. Ford Bronco Overhead Mount System from Lobo Off-Road - Installation & Review
This is the final video in our series on re-gearing and axle-swapping our '21 Ford Bronco Base. In this episode we finally wrap up the complete re-gear and axle swap, after having installed the M220 rear and M210 front drive unit with electric lockers and 5.13 gears. In this one we do all of the buttoning up, including wiring up the lockers to the Bronco's AUX switches, running the Ford Performance tune via Forscan to deal with the Front Axle Disconnect (FAD) delete, and more. M190 to M210 Front Drive Unit FDU Swap in a 6th Generation Ford Bronco: How To Do It

Rear Axle Swap in a Sixth Generation Ford Bronco: How To Do It
